How credits work

What spends credits, what is free, and where to see your balance.

Use this to

Understand EdgeCut’s credit wallet before you generate. Job to be done: know what spends credits, where to see balance/history, and how free EdgeCut AI differs from paid engines.

Basics

Credits power paid image and video generation on EdgeCut’s managed providers (Veo, Kling Omni, Gemini Omni Flash, Nano Banana, and other paid paths). Chat, planning, and brainstorming with the Creative Director do not spend credits by themselves — confirmed renders do. The approval card shows the estimate before you confirm (depending on confirm-before-generating).

Where to look

1. Check your balance in the account / header cluster.

2. Open AI Credits Activity for debits, grants, and refunds.

3. Purchase more from the credit store / packs in the account menu when enabled (Polar checkout).

4. For free rendering, explicitly opt into EdgeCut AI — see “How do I render for free?”.

New accounts

New users may receive a welcome credit grant so they can try paid models immediately. Welcome credits still appear in Credits Activity. Free EdgeCut AI quota is separate from paid credits and only applies when you opt into that model.

Tips

Read the approval card total for multi-item plans and extend chains. Failed/timeout jobs often auto-refund — check Activity before contacting support. Neither the Creative Director nor Help Center chat can grant credits directly.

When to contact support

Missing credits after Polar payment, or refunds that never appeared: Help Center chat at /help or email support@edgecut.ai with account email and Polar order id. Report an Issue in the account menu also reaches the team.
