Create your first video
From a blank project to a finished clip in a few minutes.
Use this to
Ship a short AI video without learning every panel first. Job to be done: open a project, describe one clear shot, approve the plan if asked, and download a finished clip.
Steps
1. Sign in with Google and open or create a project from the home dashboard.
2. In the project workspace, find the floating prompt bar at the bottom of the gallery.
3. Switch the media type to Video (if needed). Leave Image mode only when you want a still first.
4. Type a concrete prompt: subject, action, camera, and mood. Example: “Wide shot of a red scooter on a rainy Tokyo street at night, slow dolly in, neon reflections.”
5. Optionally attach a reference image for look or product lock (not available on free EdgeCut AI).
6. Send. If the Creative Director shows an approval card with model and credit cost, review the plan and confirm.
7. Wait for the gallery tile to finish rendering, then open the asset to preview and download.
Model and duration defaults
• Paid video engines include Veo 3.1 (short cinematic singles, typically 4/6/8s, up to ~10s at 720p), Kling 3.0 Omni (longer singles ~3–15s with native audio), and Gemini Omni Flash (fast Google omni path).
• Free EdgeCut AI video is opt-in only: 720p at 4/6/8s with a daily quota. It is never chosen silently to save credits.
• Your agent defaults for model, resolution, and aspect ratio apply when you do not override them. An explicit ask always wins.
Common mistakes
• Vague prompts (“make something cool”) produce generic results — name subject, action, and camera.
• Expecting a free render without opting into EdgeCut AI — paid models spend credits.
• Cancelling or ignoring the approval card, then wondering why nothing rendered.
• Asking a product question in the Director chat and expecting a render — questions stay chat-only.
Tips
Keep the first prompt to one beat. Attach a reference if you need a specific look. For multi-shot or long stories, plan a storyboard image first or ask for an extend chain — see Extend & Continuity. Chat with support in /help for account or credit issues; use the Creative Director for creative direction.
When to contact support
Use Help Center chat at /help or email support@edgecut.ai if sign-in fails, credits do not appear after a purchase, or a completed asset will not download. For “how do I write a better prompt?”, stay with the Creative Director or these articles. Open Help Center anytime from the ? icon in the top bar.
