Storyboards and shot plans
Plan panels as images, then animate when ready.
Use this to
Plan coverage before spending on video. Job to be done: get a single storyboard grid, revise beats, then animate with the right engine and duration.
Workflow
1. Ask for a storyboard / visual plan / separated panels as an image grid (usually Nano Banana).
2. Review the single grid image in the gallery — EdgeCut composes panels into one image, not separate tiles per shot.
3. Request adjustments (“swap panel 3”, “more product close-ups”) before video.
4. When the board is approved, ask to animate / render the video.
5. Multi-beat boards typically become one extend_chain with a target duration sized to the number of beats.
Which video engine
Storyboard animation often defaults to Veo (especially logo/UI-heavy boards). Ask explicitly for Kling if you want longer Omni segments or native audio emphasis. Singles that are too short for the board become chains — see Extend & Continuity.
Agent consult
For rich campaigns, the Director may first reply with a shot-by-shot treatment and wait for your go-ahead before proposing a paid render plan. Pure questions stay in chat. Say “go ahead” / “render it” when you want the approval card.
Tips
Keep panel count realistic for the target duration. Longer spoken scripts need more seconds so words are not cut off. Reuse Elements/@mentions so characters match across panels and the eventual chain.
