Extend a clip / continue a scene

Continue a scene when one render window is not enough. Job to be done: ask for an extend / continuation, approve the priced chain, and keep character and location continuous.

Use extend when the story needs more time than a single clip allows, when animating a multi-shot storyboard, or when a spoken line is too long for one window. Most short actions should stay a single render — do not chain by default.

1. Open the project and (optionally) select or mention the source clip you want to continue.

2. Ask the Creative Director to extend / continue / make a longer video, and state the next beat or target duration.

3. EdgeCut may use a Veo Extend chain or a Kling Magic Extend chain depending on model and request.

4. Review the approval card — chains are one plan with a credit total for the whole job.

5. Confirm and wait; the UI shows one loader for the whole chain while segments run server-side.

Veo singles are short (typically 4/6/8s, up to ~10s at 720p). Kling singles go roughly to ~15s. Anything clearly longer — or multi-panel storyboard animation — becomes one extend_chain with a target total duration. Free EdgeCut AI is for short free singles, not long paid chains.

Restate wardrobe, hair, and location in the continuation brief. Reuse Elements / [@me] / the same references. Prefer Veo chains for logo-heavy storyboards; prefer Kling when you explicitly want longer Kling segments and native audio emphasis.

• Asking for “longer” without a duration or next beat.

• Cancelling the chain card and assuming a single clip still started.

• Changing character names mid-chain (hurts continuity).
